Get Involved

This new section is dedicated to suggesting ways for people keen to get involved in the Drug Liberation Movement, and other important and noteworthy causes which the SLF and many other organisations champion. We will try and scour the planet to come up with interesting and novel ways you guys can help to make a difference. And if you've got any ideas yourself, then please let us know. There'll hopefully be something for everyone, no matter where in the world you live.

The SLF is keen on promoting the benefits of shrooms, and how they can play an important role in the health, well-being and spiritaul enlightentenment of users. We are dedicated to the cause of ensuring that the way of the shroom and shroomer are not forgotten, and that this fabulous art is preserved for future generations to enjoy.

One of the best things we feel anyone can do is to take an interest in this fantastic subject and to help build a better shrooming communtiy. This could be as simple as joining our forum, or any of the other great forum's around the web dedicated to shrooms, such as the shroomery. Maybe you're in a postion to take a guest with you on your seasonal forrays. We often get requests from people keen to learn more about how to find mushrooms, so if you can help someone near you, then this is great way to help the cause. Obviously it goes without saying if you see any mushrooms deemed ileagal, then you should point these out to your guests as ones definitely not to be picked. Basically, all we ask is that if you want to help, try and be helpful. Be creative and do your research.

The other area we feel there is a never ending demand for, is the quest to become knowledgeable in the complexities of drugs regulation, or lack of it. We feel that everyone should do their bit to become educated about the 'ins and outs','pros and cons' of the various systems and ideologies and form your own opinions how currently illegal drugs should be governed in the future. Much of the problem with the war on drugs stems from the wide spread acceptance by large sections of society, that have been brain-washed by the Tsunami of government and media lies and propaganda, solely intent on demonising drugs and drug use. Seeing through this brainwashed haze is something we implore you to delve in and explore on your own, and to do you best to counter through logical, informed and sensible opinion. We don't simply want you to tolerate the status quo, but to actively do something about it. Educating others about the error of the current drugs regulation regimen, is just one important part you can play.

Fortunately, much of the truth about the Drugs use in society, and the problems caused by prohibition are widely available. We gladly point you to Transform, an organization we are happy to be associated with, who are one of the foremost advocates for sensible drugs policy, and a move away from prohibition. Please, please, please, pay these guys a visit, make a donation, and scour their fact pact site for more information. Click here

In fact, Transform have even produced their own Get involved section of their site, which we've reproduced for your convenience below. Please read on to find out what YOU can do.

Get Involved Ideas from Transform.

Transforms' Header from it's website.

Taken from Transform's Get Involved page seen here. Please pay a visit and explore further for fantastic articles and ideas.

There are some things which every volunteer can do to take things further. They are all pretty simple but each one serves a purpose, offering a rational point of view in a variety of levels and contexts.

  1. Write a letter to your local newspaper.
  2. Relate it to a 'drugs' based article which they have recently published. Keep it short.
  3. Write a letter to a national newspaper. Address the negative effect of prohibition on a recent nation/international story. You can find web sites for paper from all over the world here: http://onlinenewspapers.com/
  4. Write to your Member of Parliament. The prohibition of drugs has terrible consequences for millions of individuals, communities and entire countries that far outweigh any benefits that it is supposed to bring.

The Government knows it, but for short-term political gain, refuses to end the war on drugs.

They also know, as Joseph McNamara, former police chief of Kansas City, put it: "The drug war cannot stand the light of day. It will collapse …as soon as people find out what's really going on."
So the Government is determined to keep us in the dark.

Which is why when (the now former) Home Office Minister Bob Ainsworth MP was asked to audit drug law enforcement to see how effective it really is, he refused, saying; "Why would we want to do that unless we were going to legalise drugs?"

We believe it is time to force the Government’s hand. They must carry out comprehensive research comparing the costs and benefits of drug prohibition policies with a health-led regulation and control approach.
Shockingly this has NEVER been done ANYWHERE.
Why? Because the result will be a torch so bright the whole world will see the truth about the War on Drugs.

And you can help make it happen! Please write to your MP demanding they call on the Government to do this research.

The SLF is also pro-environmentalism. Shrooms instill a deep appreciation for our surroundings and the the importance of its diversity. Ther are millions of ways to help make a difference in your environment. Why not get out there in your community and plant some trees or just fish out a trolley from your local stream. (Obviously don't get your self killed doing that though!)

Mega Tsunami

The power of nature fascinates us. Most of it has been seen before but few if any have ever seen a Mega Tsunami. And if you do, you probably won't be around much longer. And the scary part - they're inevitable. This documentary proposes where the next one may strike. Fascinating stuff.
